Richard W. Parkinson, MD

Richard W. Parkinson, MD, Parkinson Derm

Dr. Parkinson is Board Certified in both dermatology and pathology. He earned his Medical Degree at Tulane University and received his specialty training there and at UCLA. He began his dermatology practice in Utah in 1978. His special interests are skin cancer and rare skin diseases.

Dr. Parkinson is on the staff of Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and Timpanogos Regional Hospital. He is the director of dermatology education for the IHC Family Practice Residency Program and serves on the Board of Governors of Tulane Medical School.

 
Assistants

Carrie Jackman, Parkinson DermCarrie Jackman - PA-C
Carrie is a Certified Physician Assistant. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from BYU and her Master’s Degree in medicine from Idaho State University. She has been in practice with Dr. Parkinson since 2006 and has taken a special interest in women’s and children’s dermatology and cosmetic treatments.

Jim Carly, Parkinson DermJim Carly - PA-C
Jim earned a Bachelors Degree from the University of Utah and a Masters Degree from Cornell University in New York. He is a certified Physicians Assistant with years of general medical experience and a keen interest in dermatology. Jim has special expertise in diagnosing and treating skin cancer, acne, and warts. He and his wife are the proud parents of four children and make their home in Salem.

Christine PlattChristine Platt - NP-C
Christine graduated as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2014 at the top of her class from Brigham Young University. As the recipient of the Graduate Studies Fellowship and Elaine Dyer Research Award, she presented research and published internationally. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Minnesota in 2004 and has been working as an intensive care register nurse for the past 10 years. Her interests are in diagnosing/treating skin cancers, aging/geriatric skin conditions, and infectious disease (fungal, etc).She and her husband have 3 beautiful sons.
